At the end of 2024, the HSC Geography Class of 2025 were granted the opportunity of a four-day field trip to Cairns and the Great Barrier Reef, exploring ecosystems and conservation efforts.
Despite an early start (a 4 am meet time at the airport!), we ventured to Cairns, excited for the upcoming snorkelling at Fitzroy Island, studying of marine life at Moore Reef, and a visit to the Ecoganic banana farm to learn about sustainable farming. This trip was a once-in-a-lifetime adventure that offered us the opportunity to undertake our Geography fieldwork for our subject in a unique part of Australia - right on the Great Barrier Reef!
We would like to say a special thanks to Mrs Montgomery, who organised the entire trip, and to our wonderful teachers, Mr Lee and Ms Simmons, who facilitated and joined our class, making a dream become a reality for us all!
