On 18 May, Year 12 Geography spent the day at Taronga Zoo Sydney, studying how it operates as an enterprise within the tourism industry. They did a geographic skills workshop, which helped to define the location of the Zoo and determine the impact of the Covid-19 Pandemic on visitor numbers. An educator from the Zoo then spoke about Taronga Zoo as an enterprise, focusing on its operations, research, and the linkages it has with other businesses to ensure a successful and smooth running of daily tasks. Finally, students were then taken on a behind-the-scenes tour that the public do not have access to, including the Taronga Institute of Science and Learning, Taronga Wildlife Hospital and the Food Production Unit.
