The girls’ volleyball team delivered a strong and spirited performance in their recent competition at the NSW Schools Cup. Competing in a round-robin format, the team finished 2nd in their pool, demonstrating consistent teamwork and determination throughout.
The squad consisted of players from Years 9 to 11 with a range of experience levels - Celeste Ieronimo, Liliana Milic, Ava Silveri, Bailee Blackman, Julia Phan, Rebecca Uy, Zara Diuco, Stephanie Hu, Emily Wong, Lana Rivadulla, Adriana Diomampo, Lily Hall-O’Dwyer and Mia Xue. The more experienced players showed great leadership, encouraging and guiding their teammates, while the less experienced players contributed with enthusiasm, energy, and strong team spirit - both on and off the court.
Despite a closely contested semi-final, the team narrowly missed out on a place in the final, losing by just one point. They finished the tournament in equal 3rd place overall - a commendable result that reflects their commitment and teamwork.
Overall, it was a positive experience for all involved, and a promising sign for both the team’s future and the development of volleyball at OLMC. Well done girls!
