32 enthusiastic and talented students from Years 7 to 11 proudly represented OLMC at the annual PDSSSC Dance Championships, held at the Performance Hub of St John XXIII Catholic College in June.
Our Company Jazz and Company Contemporary groups took to the stage, showcasing the skills and discipline they have cultivated through weekly before school rehearsals across Terms 1 and 2. Company Contemporary performed a striking neo-classical piece titled ‘Ravens’, inspired by the distinctive characteristics of birds. Company Jazz lit up the stage with their dynamic and energetic routine, ‘Origami’.
In addition to the group performances, OLMC was represented in the solo categories by Lexie Elphinstone (Year 11), Emily Gorton (Year 10), Maisey Brown (Year 9), and Kaylani Elphinstone (Year 8). Each student performed student-devised contemporary pieces, demonstrating not only their technical skill but also their creativity.
Throughout the day, students displayed teamwork, confidence, and spirit. They thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to connect with peers from other schools and celebrate a shared passion for dance.
Congratulations to our OLMC dancers!
