Christmas is well and truly at OLMC with a number of fundraising and festive activities happening! In early November, Year 7 girls got into the spirit of Christmas by decorating the Student Centre.
As per the annual tradition, the College community is invited to make a donation to the OLMC Parramatta Mercy Tree on behalf of a gift recipient to help support the House of Welcome. Founded in 2001, the House of Welcome provides holistic support to refugees and asylum seekers who are living in the community with minimal support options. Mercy Tree Christmas Gift Certificates can be purchased online until Monday December 18 http://www.olmc.nsw.edu.au/school/about/mercy-tree
This year, for the first time, we are running a Mercy Tree Christmas Raffle. Prizes range from a BBQ and a laptop to family passes to Jenolan Caves and the Maritime Museum. Tickets are $5 each or 3 for $10 and are being sold at College Reception and by the student Mercy Action leaders at lunchtime between now and November 28. Prizes will be drawn at the annual Carols Evening.
Mercy families have also been digging deep to donate to the St Vincent de Paul Christmas Hampers and JRS Care Boxes. The JRS Care Boxes aim to provide a small hamper of the basic toiletries required, such as shampoo, conditioner and sanitary items.
On Tuesday November 28, the College will hold its much-loved annual Carols in the Chapel.
