On Thursday 24 August, the College will be held a Careers Breakfast for students in Years 10-12 and their parents. Focusing on careers within the health sector, including occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech pathology and exercise physiology, the event provided different perspectives on the career options and pathways within this industry.
Students are more engaged in education and more motivated about their future when they have a clear understanding of themselves and how they might live and work when they leave school. Career education and guidance is essential in preparing Mercy Girls for their future. Careers are now increasingly seen not as being ‘chosen’ but as being constructed through the series of choices about learning and work that people make throughout their lives.
The OLMC Allied Health Careers Breakfast aimed to outline options available within the health sector to our students so they can make informed choices about specific careers and educational opportunities.
