The Year 12 Drama HSC Showcase is a culmination of rigorous creative work and sustained commitment, comprising both a Group Performance and an Individual Project.
In the Group Performance, students collaborate to devise an original piece of theatre inspired by a stimulus from the NESA Group Performance topic list. Through the process of playbuilding, they develop and rehearse an 8–12 minute performance that explores a chosen theme, concept, issue, idea, or image.
For their Individual Projects, students undertake a self-directed task in a selected area of interest. This requires them to demonstrate independence, creativity, and critical thinking as they plan, refine, and realise a work that meets specific criteria.
This year, projects included Applied Research, Costume Design, and Individual Performances. The range of ideas brought to life was a testament to the students’ originality and dedication - with performances exploring the lives of refugees, cactus enthusiasts, garbos, artworks come to life, and even a monster held in custody.
We congratulate our Year 12 Drama students on their impressive work!
