At OLMC, writing imaginatively is a core part of English. During Term 1, all girls in Years 7, 8, 10 and 11 have been working assiduously to develop their skills in crafting polished compositions. To promote a love of writing creatively, several creative writing competitions are offered across the year in addition to the core syllabus. We have recently had some success in the IndigoTeen Magazine – crafted for teens, by teens.
OLMC would like to commend Pranuti Saisriraam (Year 10) and Alessandra Tomassetti (Year 9) for making it to the final publication. Pranuti’s poem is featured below:
Stardust Serenade: A Love Rekindled Across Eons
In the tapestry of the cosmos, a timeless romance did unfurl,
Two celestial souls, their love a treasure of the seraphic swirl.
Through cosmic pathways and astral planes, their tale was deftly woven,
A love destined to grace the earthly stage, once again to be proven.
Beneath the star-kissed skies of Earth, where history’s pages rhyme,
Their love rekindled, a melody of yesteryears in this grand time.
Follow this celestial chart, crafted by cosmic hands so fine,
To a love reborn, their destinies now closely entwine.
