Last week, the College celebrated Book Week with a variety of literary events. From trivia to the ever popular parade, library staff led the way in showcasing the College's passion for reading and dressing up.
Proceeds from Book Week activities went to supporting Mercy Works Connect. Each year, the Literacy Program supports more than 1,400 students from refugee and asylum seeker backgrounds. Students receive one-on-one and small group support from dedicated volunteers. Together, they build English, numeracy and learning confidence. Mercy Works Connect adult classes open doors to education, employment and community connection.
We are delighted to announce that the College has raised $1,301.11 for Mercy Works Connect. Funds raised directly resource this life-changing program, providing the tools, training and support needed to help students thrive in their new lives.
Thank you to our staff and students for supporting this initiative.
