Messages of support from Alumnae

During the period of Online Learning, Mercy Girls were lucky to receive messages of support from a number of ex-students and even the Australian Paralympic Swim team!

Ex-student and Sister of Mercy Selected as Judge for the Prestigious Blake Prize

This week we were excited to learn that Sister Rosemary Crumlin rsm had been selected as a judge for the prestigious Blake Religious Art Prize. Rosemary is an ex-student of the College, a Parramatta Sister of Mercy, art historian, educator, and exhibition curator with a special interest in art and spirituality.

She was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia in the 2001 Queen's Birthday Honours for service to the visual arts, particularly the promotion and understanding of contemporary and religious art in the community.

Earlier this year, the College was privileged to receive a special donation of an art book collection from Sister Rosemary.

Ex-student Appointed Director of Student Wellbeing

Congratulations to ex-student Ann-Marie Herd who was recently appointed as the College's Director of Student Wellbeing.

Ms Herd is an exemplary and visionary leader in the field of Student Wellbeing and is well placed to develop wellbeing initiatives, frameworks and contemporary thinking to promote resilience and self-esteem in all Mercy Girls.

Careers Breakfast Program

The OLMC Careers Breakfast Program aims to help Mercy Girls explore their post-school options and assist them in making informed choices about specific careers and educational opportunities. At these events, Alumane discuss how they decided on their tertiary education choices, career paths, experiences and provide useful tips and meaningful lessons they learnt along their journey.

Notice of 2021 Annual General Meeting

The 18th OLMC Parramatta Alumnae Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on Tuesday, 9 November 2021 at 7pm, via Zoom.

This is an election year, so we are particularly keen to invite any Alumnae who are interested in joining our Committee by self-nominating. On receipt of an Alumnae's self-nomination, a Committee member will make contact and assist with the completion of the Nomination Form. Committee members are elected for two-year terms and meet officially four times per year either at the College or via a Video Conference. We are also invited to attend and/or participate in many of the College’s activities, allowing us to build and foster connections with our future Alumnae and keep abreast of developments at the College – physically, educationally and spiritually.

One huge benefit of the pandemic has been to normalise Video Conferencing. This allows any Alumnae, regardless of where they live, to participate in the ongoing development of our growing strong network of women. Please consider joining a great group of ex-students.

For information on the roles and responsibilities of Committee members, please click here. If you would like to nominate for a position on the Alumnae Committee, please complete the nomination form linked here below.
